The New Zealand green-lipped mussel contains the well-known glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), glucosamine, and chondroitin, which are considered basic building blocks for cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and bone structures. Studies have shown that supplementation with green-lipped mussel can positively influence dogs' gait function. It supports the regeneration of articular cartilage and also has a beneficial effect on the joint quality of the animals.
Its high content of natural omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and the rare eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA) makes the green-lipped mussel simply a valuable raw material for the musculoskeletal system.
The devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) owes its unusual name to its claw-shaped fruits, which are equipped with strong barbs.
Our devil's claw comes from Namibia, where the tuberous root has been successfully used for centuries for various ailments. It is traditionally said to support ligaments, tendons, and joints, and thus can support the normal function of the entire musculoskeletal system. Devil's claw is rich in bitter substances (iridoid glycosides) such as harpagosides, procumbid, harpagide, and phenolic glycosides. It also contains water-soluble carbohydrates and important amino acids. In addition, there are secondary plant compounds such as flavonoids, triterpenes, and phytosterols – an interplay of bioactive ingredients that make up the unique active potential of the plant.
Collagen is a structural protein and the most abundant protein in the body. It consists of amino acid chains, of which lysine, proline, and glycine are particularly noteworthy. In your dog's body, it provides the tensile strength of connective tissue and is present wherever shape and firmness are needed – in ligaments, tendons, cartilage, bones, blood vessels, muscle and connective tissue, and in the skin.
The high-quality collagen contained in AniForte® JointVETAL 3 joint powder comes from white fish from the North Atlantic and is obtained exclusively from sustainable wild catches. For this purpose, the skin of the marine fish is processed, and the natively contained collagen is gently broken down into low-molecular collagen fragments (peptides) in a special enzymatic hydrolysis process (splitting of long collagen chains). The bioavailability of fish collagen is therefore high and can be rapidly absorbed by the body. Thus, the active ingredient reaches where it is needed, and the flexibility of your four-legged friend's joints can be improved and the joy of movement increased.
